Obviously this headset is aimed to support Skype feature in PSP. Since your calls to other PSP owners are free so you can talk all you want with other gamer folks. The official name for this stuff is Headset with Remote Control (product code: PSPJ-15012).

According to the official announcement, both the remote control and headset come in black only and are compatible with the current PSP-2000 version of the portable gaming system. The headset also doubles as an interface with the PSP’s Talkman and P-Kara software titles.

While the official release states that for japanese market the PSP Headset will be released available on 19 June 2008 for 3,800 yen, no definite statement regarding market outside Japan. However Amazon has listed PSP Headset Kit for Skype for $28.
